WRITING COMMISSIONS NOW OPEN

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 21, 2012, 8:39 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... :rage:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Truthfully, things, busy schedule wise, have not entirely cleared up for me, STILL, no, and thus my time is not as vast as I would prefer.

However, it has opened up a little bit, and become a bit more lax as of late; and, given that writing is my absolute passion (even above drawing, yes), hobby, and profession, I've been experiencing massive withdrawals for a few months, now (BECAUSE of my ridiculously busy schedule)! :cries: LoL

I cannot guarantee that I would be able to get to every last commission request I might receive, especially since the free time I do have I've been trying to work more diligently upon my fantasy novel (which seems never-ending, and, worse yet, stubborn by way of 'good ol' Writer's Block' -_- ), but I will nonetheless do my part to honor any agreement contracted.

Now, with all that having been said, here is my list of what I will be willing to write about (and, please note that if it is NOT listed, it is generally speculated that that is because I DON'T/WON'T do it...that, and I probably forgot it :p ):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AS OF JANUARY 2013:

:star: FANFICTION COMMISSION REQUESTS, ONLY. :star:

(While I might be willing in the near future to expand, and also include original/short stories, as well, for now it is not an option, because if I attempted to, then I'd be ending up writing yet ANOTHER novel on top of my own. :p )

---------

:star: WHAT I ('AUTOMATICALLY,' AND CURRENTLY) OFFER: :star:

:bulletblack: STORY TYPE (for now): Oneshots (or a story which receives its conclusion by the first chapter).

:bulletblack: STORY LENGTH (for now): For my own personal stories (which usually tend to specialize within drama, action/adventure, crossovers, and/or humor, alongside general fantasy), I tend to do (and honestly prefer :p ) long, or longer chapters (for multi-chapters), though I do do this, really, without trying. For oneshots, as well, if I do them for myself, they can sometimes range between over 2,000, to a little over 6,000 words, sometimes even 10,000 (as was the case for a recent commission).

For your story, I honestly suspect it to be around the same length, if it is a oneshot, and most probably near doubled that if it is a twoshot.

:bulletblack: FANFICTION FOCUSES: Anime, Books, Cartoons, Video Games, TV Shows, Movies

:bulletblack: GENRE(S): Action/Adventure, Drama, Angst (pre-teen, teen, young adult, etc), Fantasy (magic/sorcery, mythical creatures, etc), Humor, Friendship, Romance (regardless of preference), Crossovers, Family (mother/daughter bonding, etc), and Epistolary (in this specific case, diary entries).

:bulletblack: RATINGS (courtesy of 'FanFiction.Net,' to make my life easier :p ): K+ (or, for ages 9 and up, and free of any coarse language, violence, and adult themes), T (or, for ages 13 and up, and with minor action violence, however without serious injury. This may also contain mild, coarse language, but does not contain any adult themes), M (or, for ages 16 and up, and with some violence, minor coarse language, and minor suggestive adult themes)

:bulletblack: LANGUAGE (READING WISE): English

:bulletblack: POINT OF VIEW: First, or Third Person Narrative

-----

:star: WHAT I (CURRENTLY, ALTHOUGH MOST PROBABLY PERMANENTLY) DON'T OFFER: :star:

:bulletblack: Explicitly Sexual Content (which would be, I suppose, the equivalent of watching a "leaves absolutely nothing to the imagination" pornography).

:pointr: Please Note: It is not that I cannot write such pieces, but merely that I prefer not to, as often stated within various FanFiction of my own. I enjoy being expressive through my writing in other manners, and feel all the more inspired and creative when I am allowed to do so. (This, and also because the general age range of those who read my FanFiction tend to be that of young teenagers. And while, no, this is not naivety, or a 'babying,' belittling issue, I suppose it is one of personal upbringing, and my having not been generally allowed or expected to immerse myself within either category around that age.)

:bulletblack: Explicitly Coarse Language (which would be pretty much every sort of profanity you could think of to get your grandmother to blush).

:bulletblack: 'Crackfics' (which would be a story purposefully set up to be perceived as unbelievable and/or insane while reading, with the end result to having done so usually one of extreme humor . . . and headaches).

:bulletblack: Script/Chat Format (Example: DENA: I wonder if Greg made it home all right.
LISA: I'm sure he did, don't worry. )

:bulletblack: Nothing BUT Dialogue: (where perhaps maybe one, or two sentences will be dedicated to the scene's description and setting, and then the remainder will be filled with nothing but back and forth dialogue.

Example: I watched as Dad walked through my bedroom door.

"Did you do your homework yet?"

"Yes, Dad, I did."

"When?"

"Before you got home."

"And your chores?"

"Also finished." )

---

(Considering you are paying me for your story's 'birth,' this one in particular is a good thing.) :p

-----

:star: WHAT I WOULD NEED FROM YOU, THE BUYER: :star:

:bulletblack: YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS FOR WHEN THE STORY IS COMPLETE (Please refer to 'How to Contact/Hire Me' for proper details)

:bulletblack: FEATURED SERIES, CROSSOVER SERIES, AND RATING: Obviously, I will need to know for which series I am writing. I am rather eclectic by nature, and although I do not truthfully watch a whole lot of television any longer (versus reading), if your chosen series originally hails from there, I still know/know of/like (or even dislike :p ) a good many existing series, all the same. (This, and I had been a '90's Kid,' as well as possessing two older siblings who grew up -- And thus, me, as well -- watching old school classics such as "Thundercats" :la: )

If your story idea consists of more than one series, please naturally indicate this, especially if it is a MULTI-crossover.

:pointr: Please Note: IF, however, your series is one that I am not honestly familiar with, or one I have never read/watched, while I would still be willing to at least take a crack at it, I will most probably have to decline the commission, as I do not wish to provide inadequate service.

:bulletblack: FEATURED CANON/FAN-CHARACTERS, AND THEIR BACKSTORIES: Naturally, I will need every last detail you have in mind for your fanfiction IDEA, including basics such as which characters will be involved, your genre choice, time setting (prequel, during, sequel, etc), and whether your tale is canon-based (happenings within whatever series 'universe'/'world' which has been accepted as "official"), or alternate universe/'A.U.', as it sometimes referred to as (for example, if a canon series character had perished by its overall conclusion, however was either somehow revived or had never expired in the first place), as well as out of character/'O.O.C.' possibilities (a normally moody character is suddenly cheerful, and vice versa, etc).

Also, please inform me ahead of time if an inclusion of yours or another person's fan-character(s) is/are to be had, and naturally provide any/all details surrounding said character(s) (even any drawings you, or someone else has done based upon them! This can be provided just in case you may not be terribly great at describing them through writing, at least physical wise. Regardless, I have very sharp visualization, so you needn't worry :p ).

If you do NOT have all that much information to yield, but would still like to see your general idea be brought to life, don't fret. So long as you have that small kernel in mind, then I can and will run with it and go from there. :)

I do prefer flexibility, in truth; however, I will not deviate from the story's main focus.

-----

:star: HOW TO CONTACT/HIRE ME (AS IT PRESENTLY STANDS): :star:

Please do not leave a comment, one detailed (about your story idea), at least, on my front page, or within this journal. My Feedback Messages section is truly swamped enough as it is, and try as I might to respond to every general comment I receive, I do sometimes get more than a little behind.

This being said, please, instead, :inote: me, with all of your ideas you may currently possess. Once this is done, if I accept, and thus, you explicitly agree to pay, our transaction has begun.

I will then proceed to write your one/twoshot within its entirety, but will only :note: back the first few paragraphs as your preview.

If it is to your satisfaction and everything is generally copacetic, you send over the correct payment amount, and then after your finished piece will be emailed to you as a PDF copy.

-----

:star: AMOUNT OF TIME UNTIL STORY'S COMPLETION (AS IT PRESENTLY STANDS - AS OF DECEMBER 2012): :star:

Truly varies. However, normally, a story can be completed between a mere few hours, to two, three days, tops. I presently set the cut off time for seven to fourteen days from when I was first officially hired (NOT first contacted) by you, mainly for extra leeway (although, even with the various 'goings on' within my life, separate to this, I doubt that much time will be necessary, given these will only be one/twoshots).

IF, though, for whatever reason I was unable to fulfill my part of the contract, be it sudden emergencies, or the time had gone well beyond the seven to fourteen days, maximum, then your story will no longer be written, and thus, you are no longer required to pay.

In any event, however, I will always be upfront with you about everything concerning this, be it whether or not I will be able to write your story at all (that is, if I know the series to begin with), or if I would have to place you within my 'pending pile' while I take care of another customer before you.

-----

:star: COSTS (AS OF MARCH 2015): :star:

:bulletblack: ONESHOTS: $6 (if between 2,000, to 5,000 words) / / $12 (if reaching 6,000, to 10,000 words)

-----

:star: PAYMENT, AND PROCEDURES (AS THEY ARE, PRESENTLY): :star:

PAYPAL, only.

As it says on my front page (link here: sokai-sama.deviantart.com/  ), I do not do point commissions. I've no personal need, nor desire for them. The only time I would be willing to 'bend' on this is if I were doing a donation pool, in order to in turn gift some of those points to others on here who might be in need.

---

I will most likely make a 'straight to the point' version of this listing, with a link added back to this one for newcomers.

For now, though, and in general, really, if any of this is a bit, or completely too complicated for you, then please do not hesitate to contact me in THAT regard, with any questions and concerns you may have!

=/ Seems like "no one ever wants" much of anything from anyone I know or know of who wish to do commission business with others, lately. Just mainly the super super popular people on here are pretty lucky with it. :p

That would be lovely, sweet pea, except if it it isn't for an actual commission, I'm far too busy to do requests, art trades, and/or gifts and such for a little while more...=/

But what could help YOU with YOUR commission luck would just to join a lot more, if not already, groups based upon commission advertising and such. Try the slightly smaller ones in terms of member number, simply so you stand a better shot at being noticed.

Also, I'd just bumped into a group for ONLY writing commissions, two days ago: :iconwriting-commissions: It's still pretty new and up and coming, but the Founder's really friendly and hopeful for more people to take notice.

Writers block is a b****. Especially when it's your actual novel. (I won't ask what it's about, I'll just eagerly await it's inevitable publishing date:D And yes, you ARE that good)

I get the refusal to do explicit sexual content. I tried it once and just urgh. Coarse language tends to be a no-no with me as well. (I CENSOR my OWN fics for that when they're T or less and would be hypocritical of me to ask that from you.) Crackfics can be a mixture of amusing in small doses and I honestly wouldn't want to go through 2000 odd words on the subject and script-style stuff is pretty much against the ToS on Fanfiction anyway.

I must admit, I'm puzzled by the idea of iced water. It kind of defeats the point, doesn't it?

Nope (about the iced water), but 1, I like my water to be extra chilly, really, and extra crisp, and 2, for those who feel they need it, it also adds the extra incentive for the body to burn calories, since it uses up a bit more energy to warm up the water after it's inside you.

Besides, summertime over here can be brutal, and since I like to drink honestly nothing but water all year round, period, said water usually is already room temperature at times in about half an hour if not drunk fast enough.

Anyhow, I'm glad you read all this, despite not needing/wanting anyone else to write your works (which is fine), and the extra vote of confidence that I'll make it all the way to publishing time for my book.

"Fluffy lil' bunny"? :blushes:

I mean, I've done requests in the past for people. Like these one: [link] and [link]

I've just never asked people to pay since I don't know if anyone would want to. I'd feel immensely honored if someone wanted to commission me to do a story or if I offered and they accepted. It would be like someone saying "You are talented and awesome. Write me a story!" I dunno. Maybe I'm just weird like that. ^^;

Well, you ARE awesome, though (to me, anyway)! And why NOT start commissions? Honestly, with all due respect, it seems as though really most anyone can commission anything here, and also seems as though most everyone will pay.

And besides, so long as what you're asking isn't honestly outrageous in price, I don't see why at least one or two people wouldn't eventually say "yes," you know? :)

If YOU like point commissions, then stick with those for now, since a lot of people seem to have available points within their account, so it wouldn't be that much of a bother for them. And then start small in charge, too, if you don't feel all that confident in getting a bite at first. I do know that 80 points, for example, is $1, so charge that for maybe a 200 to 400 word piece, fan or original fiction, or even a poem.

I'll go lookit your pieces now! ^_^

I've got a lot of stuff but I recommend not going past maybe 2011. The earliest stuff I have was written during a time when I thought I knew everything but I was actually a dumbass. They're called my "teenage years." ;P

But I'm more humbled by your vote of confidence. ^_^
